Crimson Resource Management is in search of a well-versed Supply Chain & Procurement professional with experience in vendor management, procurement cost-saving strategies, and financial reporting & analysis.

The candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following responsibilities: cost controlling, invoice auditing, creating MSA’s/contracts, insurance evaluations, bidding goods and services and inventory administration.  Must work in a team environment, manage assignment & project deadlines, and assume broad job responsibilities.  This position will support all Crimson Resource Management locations and will require driving to various locations in Kern County and LA County with occasional travel to our corporate office in Denver, CO and other States.

Current pay range for this position is reasonably expected to range from $75,000 – $125,000. This position is an exempt, full-time position. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

Position Roles and Responsibilities:

This Supply Chain & Procurement Specialist position has the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for vendor pre-qualifications, new vendor set ups, monitoring vendor performance, implementation of corrective and preventative actions for quality related issues.
  • Manage SCRM platform to ensure PEC and Non-PEC compliance, track and report COI status, distribute monthly reports such as Preferred Vendor List updates to internal departments.
  • Perform routine contract and invoice reviews, report discrepancies to Accounting and CFO, submit Credit Memo requests to Contractor and Accounts Payable.
  • Develop RFx bid solicitations, coordinate specification development and technical clarification requests, analyze quotations/proposals, finalize commercial term contracts and ensure that all supply chain documentation is maintained in a manner consistent with Crimson’s policies and procedures.
  • Gather data and conduct analyses to understand market fundamentals, supply base, safety compliance, and applicable continuous improvement initiatives for assigned category reviews.
  • Negotiate and implement cost-saving programs, such as volume-based discounts, better payment terms, process optimization, lead time improvements, etc.
  • Prepare monthly cost and progress reports to the CFO & COO that includes, at a minimum, the following:
    • Progress reporting (all aspects)
    • Cost variance analysis and reporting
    • Financial and contractual commitments
  • Assure purchased goods/services are obtained on a timely basis, at the lowest TCO, consistent with Crimson’s quality and service expectations.
  • Support inventory process improvements through inventory reconciliation and inventory reduction measures. Facilitate the sale or disposal of surplus/scrap equipment and materials.
  • Perform all other tasks assigned and assist with projects as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Able to work in various outdoor conditions that include inclement weather e.g. heat, cold, humidity, etc.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment when required;
  • Lift and carry items weighing approximately 10 pounds and ability to bend, stoop, climb;
  • Required to use hands and arms to perform routine office tasks e.g., typing, use of printer/scanner, answering phone;
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit up to 8 or more hours per day.
  • Driving is an essential part of this position and must be able to drive unaccompanied on various road types e.g. gravel, dirt, highway, etc.

Critical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Understanding of oil and gas industry commodities (materials, product lines, brands, etc.).
  • Ability to organize, plan and achieve results while effectively managing multiple priorities.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and possess innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses strong communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or Economics with a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Supply Chain professional in the oil and gas industry; or no degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Supply Chain professional in oil and gas operations or related industry.
  • Experience working with SCRM software solutions.
